Danny Vecchione is a Brooklyn, NY based filmmaker who works as a cinematographer in the narrative, documentary, and commercial worlds. Danny shot two episodes of the critically acclaimed FX/Hulu show Dying for Sex. He has shot two narrative/documentary hybrid features with Diego Ongaro - Down With The King (Cannes Film Festival, Grand Prize at Deauville Film Festival, and New York Times top ten film of the year), as well as Bob and the Trees (Sundance, Grand Prize - Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and Haskell Wexler Award for Best Cinematography at Woodstock Film Festival). He has worked with director Sean Mullin on four feature films - the documentary It Ain’t Over about the life of Yogi Berra (Sony Pictures Classics, Tribeca Film Festival), Amira & Sam (Drafthouse Films, Best Narrative Film Award at ten film festivals), and the just finished documentary Brothers On Three. He was the co-cinematographer on the documentary Geoff McFetredge: Drawing a Life (Audience Award at SXSW). Other notable projects include Happiness For Beginners (Netflix Original Film), Kinyarwanda (Sundance Audience Award), The Locksmith (Sundance ‘Best of Next’ Award), and Raw Craft, a documentary series featuring Anthony Bourdain. Danny has shot commercials for clients such as Meta, Budweiser, Porsche, Mini Cooper, Invesco QQQ, Amazon, Mailchimp, and many more. He graduated from with honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with an MFA in film, and magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Arts and Design.
